The apple dessert is a made-to-order apple cake — similar to Napoleon, where crisp layers of puff pastry are arranged alternately with light custard layers, perfectly complemented by a topping of juicy and aromatic apples that gives a sweet and slightly tart flavour.

It is wonderful that we can enjoy juicy and aromatic apples all year round — in the form of apple cake. The autumn season is surely remembered fondly by many, thanks to the apple harvest, which is put to good use by experimenting and baking apple cakes, traybakes and sweet pastries.
